AutoCamp Joshua Tree
Four girls, one Airstream, a campfire, and good eats. We spent one night at AutoCamp in Joshua Tree, tucked away in the cutest little nook on the desert grounds. Dinner was homemade pizza, followed by s’mores roasted over the fire as the temperature dropped and the desert air turned crisp. Bundled up in layers, we sat by the flames until the stars became our only source of light. We slept soundly in our Airstream and woke up to soft pink skies at sunrise — a truly magical experience and one I can’t wait to return to someday.
The glamping experience at AutoCamp felt very real. There’s a pool for guests to swim in, pizza ovens you can rent for an easy, communal dinner, and a cozy lobby with a glowing fire—perfect for reading or journaling. I’m used to tent camping, so this felt undeniably luxurious in the best way.

Before checking in, we spent the day wandering through Yucca Valley, Pioneertown, and Joshua Tree—thrift shopping, browsing local markets, and eating more BBQ than necessary at Pappy & Harriet’s. Around the holidays, I had found an old vintage Pentax in my parents’ garage with a roll of film wound inside—over 30 years old. As we explored the desert, I shot 24 frames of expired film, not knowing what to expect. The results came back muted, grainy, and incredibly vibey—see below.
I always love returning to this beautiful pocket of the desert—I leave feeling grounded, inspired, and completely at ease. If you haven’t been to AutoCamp yet, it’s definitely worth checking out.
